Blackburn Local History Society holds meetings and arranges visits to local places of historical interest. Winter Meetings usually consist of a talk by a local history expert. We try to book a wide variety of speakers, so you have a good chance of finding a meeting to suit your interests or even find a new topic you didn’t know you were interested in!

Winter Meetings

During the winter season our meetings are held at Blackburn Library, usually on the last Tuesday of the month. To avoid clashing with Christmas Day, we tend to hold the meeting earlier in the month in December.

Summer Visits

Between May and August the Society arranges more informal events and visits. These visits are usually to places of historical interest in Lancashire and beyond. These events are only available to members. Find out more about how you can become a member of Blackburn Local History Society.

We always welcome new ideas and speakers, if you would like to talk at a meeting or open up your venue for a visit from the Society please contact us.
